Background Information

The Owner and President of IVA Homes, Ivan Petrovic, grew up as the son of a skilled tradesman in Europe. Ivan's father was a Superintendent of several sites and in turn built 6 homes back in his home country of Croatia. So it was only natural for both Ivan and his siblings to follow in their father's footsteps.

Completing Carpentry by trade, Ivan decided moved to Canada from Croatia in 1973 in hope of having more opportunities and chance to expand his craftsman skills. Given that, Ivan and his brother started an aluminum business called "Canadian Star Aluminum" in 1976.  This company is still fully Operational and Successful today, 34 years later. Canadian Star Aluminum completes projects such as as: Siding, Evastrough, Fasciaa, Downs-Pipe, etc.

Ivan quickly learned the skills necessary to become the exceptional Builder and Leader he is today - these skills are the core reasons that IVA Homes Ltd. has grown to be known and respected for Quality and Service.

After over 40 years in the business, Ivan has become a chosen partner in the building industry with leading builders in the Toronto and surrounding areas. In addition, Ivan has built and continues to build subdivision homes (under Ashton) in Stratford, Welland, St. Catherine's, Fonthill and Woodstock areas.

IVA Homes Ltd. Builds Homes with the finest of Quality and Workmanship. In addition to building Homes, IVA Homes Ltd. in partnership with its sister company Canadian Star Aluminum, also completes exterior home improvements such as: Columns, Posts, Pillars, Railings, Porches - essentially any detailed work.

Family Background

Ivan Petrovic married his wife Sally in 1979. In 1980, their eldest daughter Iva was born, hense where the name IVA Homes Ltd. came from. Then came Sima, Mira, Iliana and Ilija.

As if all these family members weren't enough to handle, the Petrovic family still somehow found the time to move a total of 14 times within the GTA. This allowed the children to learn from an early age to adapt and conform to their surroundings.

Apart from raising 5 children, Ivan's wife, Sally Petrovic was also a Private School Teacher for grades 7, 8 and 10 at Mentor College. Sally taught for 8 years and just recently retired. But she definitely didn't let it stop there ... Her passion and devoted love for children has allowed her become an active member in a Take Action Group for the Free the Children Organization.

Free The Children empowers children in North America to take action to improve the lives of fellow children overseas in Third World Countries. Sally along with 7 students, voluntarily participated in an international project located in Ecuador. They travelled to Ecuador on an endeavor to build a school from scratch in only two weeks. Sally's involvement in these projects to help raise both the funds and awareness is admirable. Her drive to help children from less fortunate countries is unstoppable and even though she is retired, she will still continue to contribute and partake in this Organization along side Mentor College.
